What do you really want from a relationship?
When I hear about people's desires for their ideal relationship, it can often get extremist. You just want to suggest that they get a dog and that's it. There's often a balanced mindset missing.
Even thinking back to my past entanglements/relationships, I saw how lazy they were. It's the classic complaint that many women have of "We never wanted to do shit" or "He never wanted to do shit". lol Even though I enjoyed men cooking for me, paying for things, DIYing things for me, and having their cats or puppies in my presence, I was like eh and left them all. Why? I wanted to travel, do some cooking of my own, avoid marriage and children, and keep things egalitarian. The pets with fruit names to a passed Italian mother hanging on the living room wall was also a bit much. It's all rather comedic in retrospect. I don't want to make time for that stand up routine though. ;)
Why is balance so difficult for couples to bring into their lives though?
People just get lazy!
Relationships take work and planning to keep things stimulating.
As a rule of thumb, it's best to treat your relationships like a "business" sometimes. Remember the Universe vibrates to 3s. Checking in with one another every 3 weeks for a relationship "business meeting" can really help in planning out the next bucket list adventures, music events, exotic food adventures, instrument purchases, gaming consoles, etc.
These are just examples on how to keep the inner child as happy as the inner adult.
Both are necessary for a long term union. :)
